Ever since I've been fawning after fashion, I've absorbed, and I've learned, and I've been able to put forth my own style in the world. I have discovered what I now call the formula, (which I will begin to share as soon as I have the opportunity a.k.a being out of school), but I'd like to give a little preface of it. Each time, I examine a runway show, or see any editorials or blog posts and so on... I take bits and pieces from each which eventually can be incorporated into a equation that can result in personal style, or outfits. Now, I'm not saying there is an exact equation to have style, it's without a doubt mostly personal and impulsive, but it's about creating an idea in your head so then you can produce it physically. It also helps so that on those days when you're feeling like a blank page, you have something concrete that you can rely on. I wanted to share two of my favorite collections from Paris Fashion Week Fall 2013. Kenzo and Paul Ka manage to take awesome, diverse separates and combine them to make absolutely perfect and unique outfits. So now that I have fell in love with these collections, I take the time to observe them, making sure I am able to take a piece of knowledge from them, helping me to identify a trend or interpret what can be described as fashionable. What I gathered from these collections was the importance on shapes and the ability to play with them. Put a A line over straight legged piece, or you can even dare to double up on a shape- they each have versatility, make sure to use it. Layering them also helps to create a range of possibilities and mixing and matching also proves understanding of a piece and it's purpose in your wardrobe. Playing with shapes makes the outfit appealing aesthetically, as well as helping to define your abilities in styling. I will begin to outline the formula even more over the next few months, in hopes of helping those on a quest for style and inspiring those with their own. I have such a weird thing for eyes and so that first sweater caught mine right away! I think everyone has some version of that formula... what makes someone fashionable is how well their final product comes out.

I think most people have go-tos versus formulas, with a formula, I think you have unlimited possibilities, and as much as it's the product, there's even more creativity in the process.
